The NYPD announced the launch of their new news blog, NYPD News, on Wednesday.
The police department said the blog is the “latest social media platform the NYPD is leveraging to share timely and accurate information and how the NYPD is dedicated to working collaboratively with those it serves to continue keeping New York City safe.”
Posts on the site date back to the end of August, and include arrests, NYPD Crime Stoppers alerts, missing person information, links to news stories and photos.
“NYPD News is a continuation of the Department’s history of embracing popular and emerging technology in order to keep the public informed,” Police Commissioner William J. Bratton said. “We are dedicated to working with the public and connecting with people through the outlets they use on a daily basis.”
