Occupy Wall Street vows subway takeover Thursday

Get ready. Occupy Wall Street is planning a massive takeover of Wall Street and the city subway system this Thursday.

According to their website, Occupy Wall Street plans to “Shut Down Wall Street” at 7 a.m. on Thursday. At 3 p.m. that day, they plan to “Occupy The Subways” by gathering at 16 central subway hubs. And at 5 p.m. organizers say they are expecting “tens of thousands” to gather in Foley Square, after which they plan to march over the Brooklyn Bridge.

The last time Occupy Wall Street walked over the car lanes of the bridge, more than 700 protesters were arrested.

All protests done on Thursday will be non-violent, say organizers. The action marks the two-month anniversary since Occupy Wall Street first camped out in Zuccotti Park.
