Outraged Donald Trump uses ‘Frozen’ to defend star tweet

What do Donald Trump and “Frozen”have in common? Absolutely nothing — despite the Republican nominee’s attempt to defend a recent tweet by comparing it to the children’s Disney movie.

On Saturday, Trump tweeted an image of Hillary Clinton next to a symbol that looked like the Star of David with the phrase “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!”against a backdrop of 100 dollar bills.According to a Fox News poll attached to the bottom of the image, 58 percent of people reportedly rated Clinton “corrupt” while the other 30 percent rated her “honest/trustworthy.”

The Trump campaign quickly deleted the photo after the star received massive criticism from social media because of the anti-Semitic connotation. To correct the error, the star was replaced with a circle and re-uploaded to Twitter, but not quickly enough to stop the backlash.

“Dishonest media is trying their absolute best to depict a star in a tweet as the Star of David rather than a Sheriff’s Star, or a plain star!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Journalists didn’t have to try as hard as the Republican nominee thinks they did to interpret his tweet as extremely offensive. The meme was found on an Internet message board popular among white supremacists and neo-Nazis posted as early as June 22, the Independent reported.

Trump responded to the ridicule with a tweet on Wednesday of a photo of a “Frozen” sticker book that had a similar star on the cover. “Where is the outrage for this Disney book? Is this the ‘Star of David’ also?” he wrote.

Unfortunately for Trump, the“Frozen” tweet dug him further down into his rabbit hole.

“The Frozenstar isn’t on a pile of money & you didn’t get it from a neo-nazi message board. Other than that, sure,” a Twitter user responded.

US Weekly reported that another Twitter user added, “FYI: that frozen star thing that trump tweeted out he ALSO got from a white supremacist Twitter feed.”
