Paterson says son wasn’t gambling

NEW YORK. Gov. David Paterson yesterday downplayed his teenage son’s questioning by police after being stopped while throwing dice and carrying someone else’s debit card. Appearing on “Imus in the Morning,” the governor said “there was no money involved” in the game and his son Alex, 15, hadn’t used the card.

The teenagers found it near a subway garbage can, Paterson said.

“It would have been better to try find the person and return it, but no one had put any charges on the card so it was not an issue,” he said.
