Now knowing the outcome of yesterday’s Patriot’s game, it was one many Patriots fans would have wanted to miss anyway.
One 50-year-old man did miss yesterday’s game when he accidentally shot himself in the leg while in the Gillette Stadium parking lot.
The unidentified man was attempting to empty the chamber of his gun while in his car with his wife when it accidentally went off, Foxborough Police Chief Ed O’Leary said in a statement.
The man, who was licensed to have the gun, was shot in the leg during the incident about an hour before the 4:15 p.m. kickoff.
He was taken to a local hospital and was expected to be OK.
Police secured the gun.
