‘Pharma Bro’ offering $5K for Hillary Clinton hair sample

Martin Shkreli, Pharma Bro

With spare time after his fraud trial ended in a felony conviction last month, “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli announced that he wants a piece of Hillary Clinton — literally.

The guy called “the most hated man in America” has offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who can bring him a sample of Clinton’s hair, reports The Hill. He suggested it could be acquired during her upcoming book tour.

The Clinton Foundation is willing to KILL to protect its secrets,” Shkreli wrote in a Facebook post Monday. “So on [Clinton’s] book tour, try to grab a hair from her. I must confirm the sequences I have. Will pay $5,000 per hair obtained from Hillary Clinton. Payment after the sequence matches. Good luck, patrollers.”

“Sequences” refers to DNA sequences, and it’s unclear what that has to do with Shkreli’s accusations or anything.

(this is satire, meant for humor and not an endorsement of violence against a truly wonderful public servant)” he concluded, but by Tuesday afternoon, Shkreli claimed he had been contacted by the Secret Service. “The Secret Service has requested an interview with me,” he wrote on Facebook. “I am declining that interview–schedule is full. I will be peacefully protesting the Hillary Clinton book signing in NYC, chanting ‘lock her up’ with my friends, though.”

On Wednesday afternoon, Shkreli claimed success, posting that he had received “various samples, including a pristine condition 25-hair (including follicles) sample of the subject in question. I will proceed with sequencing as fast as I can.”

Disappointing those who like their trolling narratives to be neat and tight, Shkreli still hadn’t specified what he would like to do with any DNA extracted from any hair samples.

He did, however, announce that he is trying to sell his copy of the Wu-Tang Clan album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” the only one in existence, which he purchased from the group for $2 million in 2015, to the widespread ire of basically everyone who knows who Wu-Tang is.

As of Wednesday afternoon, bidding had reached $100,000 on eBay.

The winner must include $25,000 for legal fees. But Shkreli is offering free shipping.

Hillary Clinton’s book recounting her experiences on the 2016 presidential campaign, “What Happened,” hits stores next week. Her book tour kicks off on Sept. 18th in Washington, D.C.
