A Philadelphia high school is on lockdown Tuesday after a school police officer lost his loaded gun, which was possibly taken from his car.
The Kensington Urban Education Academy at 2051 E. Cumberland is on lockdown after Philadelphia police said that an officer at the school is missing his personal weapon, ABC reported.
The gun was reported missing from the officer’s car, though he is unsure if it went missing before or after he drove the car to the school, ABC added.
The school, which serves grades 9 to 12, is currently the scene of police activity with officials’ vehicles parked on the sidewalk and news helicopters hovering overhead, NBC stated in a related article.
The Philadelphia School District has only commented to acknowledge that police are on the scene, NBC added.
