A founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio and distinguished professor of music at Indiana University performs in Ottawa today at the gala opening of Music and Beyond, the city’s new classical music festival.
Now 86, legendary pianist Menahem Pressler has been performing for 70 years and teaching for 53.
“I love every second of it,” said Pressler. “It’s beautiful to make music and influence young people to make music … and to feel that music is something that is not just good as entertainment, but good for your soul.
“The passion is not smaller because you get older,” he said.
“If anything, it grows bigger.”
