Pipeline faces opposition

Four Greenpeace activists chained themselves to the door of Enbridge’s Vancouver office and used oil they said was from the Gulf of Mexico to write “B.C. Next” on the glass entrance door.

Other protesters rallied outside the Burrard Street building demanding the company abandon plans to build twin pipelines from Alberta to Kitimat, B.C., after one of Enbridge’s pipelines burst on Monday.

It caused a three-million-litre oil spill in southwest Michigan.

Greenpeace B.C. director Stephanie Goodwin, said if the pipeline is built in the province it’ll be just a matter of time before Enbridge “becomes the BP of B.C.”
