Playing the Field: Vince Young offers to play for Arizona

Vince Young has a lot of free time on his hands nowadays. So why not tweet Larry Fitzgerald and offer to be his quarterback?

Young has never particularly impressed me in the NFL, but it’s shocking — even with some personality concerns — that he is currently unemployed. How does this guy not even have a backup job?

Well, in that spirit, he tweeted Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald yesterday afternoon offering his services at QB. If you’ve seen Ryan Lindley and John Skelton play, he’s not wrong. If you watched Lindley play against the Jets last week, you know he may be the worst quarterback in NFL history. He literally couldn’t throw the ball within five yards of open receivers.

Young’s tweet to Fitzgerald — who hasn’t responded by the way — already has 1,900 retweets in less than 24 hours.

Young later tweeted he wouldn’t actually be interested in playing this season. I tend to doubt that’d be the case if he was offered the spot, but there are only three games left, so who cares really?

Poor Fitzgerald by the way is wasting away the best years of his career with the worst quarterbacking in the league.
