Police looking at link in violent group attacks (video)

A day after Boston Police released video of a woman assaulted during an attack and robbery, police received information on a second violent attack by what might be the same group of young people.

The most recent attack occurred about 8 p.m. Monday near Marlborough and Gloucester streets.

The woman said she was approached from behind by about 5 people and felt a tug on her bag. She said she was physically assaulted as she and the group struggled for the bag. The group was able to flee with her bag.

The information on that robbery comes a day after police released video of a similar attack near Symphony Hall.

That attack occurred about 11:50 a.m. Monday.

A woman was walking along Huntington Avenue with a bag on her arm when she was attacked from behind by a group of six people.

The video shows one of the suspects try to grab the woman’s bag. The woman tries to hold on to the bag and is pulled to the ground where another suspect in the group kicks and punches her.

The group then gives up and calmly walks away down the street as the woman tries to find help.

The woman has not made herself known to police. Police think she is foreign and tried to talk to witnesses in Italian before she left the scene.

Anyone with information can call 617-343-5619 or text “tip” to crime (27463).
