Police on hunt for prescription drug robber

A man with a “pigeon-toed” walk stole a bag full of prescription medication from a central Halifax drug store Thursday morning.

Halifax Regional Police said the suspect walked into the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy at 6407 Quinpool Rd. just before 9 a.m., demanding a staff member hand over drugs before running toward Kline Street.

Police spokesman Const. Jeff Carr wouldn’t specify which drugs the suspect snagged because “it could be sensitive,” but said it “was a variety of different types.” He said the man likely plans to “use and/or sell” the drugs.

Const. Carr said a police dog “attempted to get a track” and officers swept the area but they couldn’t pin down the suspect. He’s described as being a six-foot tall white man who appears to be in his 30s and is about 250 pounds. He wore a dark hoodie, dark track pants, white sneakers and also walked with a slouch.
