Halifax police are investigating two knifepoint robberies on Sunday night.
Halifax RCMP say a 26-year-old man was robbed by two suspects behind Leslie Thomas Junior High School in Lower Sackville and received a knife wound to his face that required stitches.
Police say the victim was on the pathway when two males approached him — one holding a knife and the other a can of bear spray.
The suspects robbed the victim of cash and jewelry. He received a facial wound when police say the man holding the knife put it up against the victim’s cheek.
Police say the victim made his way to a friend’s house and was taken to hospital.
Also Sunday night, Halifax Regional Police say a man threatened a pizza delivery driver with a knife at the 100 block of Jarvis Lane in Halifax at 7:45 p.m. The suspect demanded money, but police say was scared off when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot nearby.
The suspect then sprayed what police believe was mace into the driver’s face, grabbed the food he was delivering and fled the scene.
Police describe the suspect as a slim black man, five-foot-10, wearing all black baggy clothes.
