Police from several South Shore communities recently raided the home of a teenager who was suspected of dealing the drug “molly” and arrested him.

Kyle MacKinnon, 17, of West Bridgewater, faces drug trafficking charges as well as a firearm ammunition charge. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $75,000 bail, according to the Globe.

Police said they were following MacKinnon for about a month as part of an investigation. On Friday, they raided his home on Friday and allegedly found 23 grams of “molly,” 26 grams of cocaine, a half pound of marijuana, digital scales, plastic bags and bullets.

“Molly,” which is a powdered form of the drug MDMA, has come into the spotlight recently after a 19-year-old New Hampshire girl died from a suspected “molly” overdose while attending a concert at the House of Blues. Two other people died after authorities said they believe they overdosed on “molly” during a concert in New York City.

Earlier this month, Quincy police said they made about a dozen arrests related to “molly” dealing at a city club, which also was the scene of multiple overdoses.
