HALIFAX – RCMP confirmed the body found Wednesday afternoon on Upper Governor Road near North Preston is that of a man, and the case is now considered a homicide investigation.
The body was found in the area where Sergei Kostin’s burned-out taxi was discovered in January. Police determined the gender but have not yet identified the body.
Cpl. Joe Taplin with the RCMP said the body is still where it was found Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Investigators are taking aerial photos Thursday morning and a medical examiner will visit the scene sometime Thursday.
The man’s body will be removed for an autopsy and that’s when police are hoping he will be identified.
