Proof Kyrie Irving hates LeBron – uses Bible verse to troll Cavaliers

Kyrie Irving, hates, LeBron

There is new proof that new Celtics star Kyrie Irving hates LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Irving has not mentioned LeBron by name since his trade to Boston but hasn’t exactly bad-mouthed his alleged mentor either.

LeBron James has passive aggressively taken shots at Irving, highlighted by the below video with the lyric: “N***as said they with you when they really not.”

So Irving took a page out of the passive-aggressive king’s playbook after his first preseason game with the Celtics and wore a hat that read: “Popularity contests are not truth contests.”

There was a time last season where Irving reportedly wouldn’t speak with LeBron and other teammates at practice. LeBron had brought all of his people on board the Cavs roster and was obviously the “popular one” in Cleveland.

The phrase “popularity contests are not truth contests” actually comes from the Bible under Luke 6:26-36.

“There’s trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth contests – look how many scoundrel preachers were approved by your ancestors! Your task is to be true, not popular.

To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst.”
