As well as holding open house meetings on the Lansdowne Park redevelopment plan this week and next, the City of Ottawa is soliciting public comments online.
The Ottawa Talks e-consultation platform, launched yesterday, will allow users to share their opinions on the Lansdowne Live proposal until Oct. 11.
“I encourage everyone to come out to one of the public open house sessions or to contribute your comments online,” said Mayor Larry O’Brien. “This is your park. This is your city. This is your future.”
The e-consultation is being done by Nik Nanos of Nanos Research, who will present a transcript of comments to council, as well as an analysis of the debate. He will also moderate the discussion.
“One thing that I will be closely watching is that we have a positive dialogue,” said Nanos, “that we engage and get as many ideas as possible, and that people respond to each other and treat other people’s opinions in a respectful manner.”
“I’ll try hard, Nik,” O’Brien joked, before posting the first comment on the website.
