QPR signs defender Nedum Onuoha from Man City

LONDON – Queens Park Rangers has signed defender Nedum Onuoha from Manchester City.

The 25-year-old Englishman, who has been a fringe player at City, joins the Premier League club on a 4 1/2-year contract.

QPR manager Mark Hughes says Onuoha “did very well for me at Manchester City and played a number of games, probably more than under any other manager.”

Hughes added that Onuoha is “very versatile. He can play centre back or right back, and has good pace. He is a very good addition to the squad.”

QPR also bolstered its defensive options earlier this week by signing Nigeria defender Taye Taiwo on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season.

QPR is two points and two places above the relegation zone.
