Tom Brady is not happy with the Patriots and their personnel moves and the Patriots are dubious as to whether or not the 37-year-old quarterback is still an elite performer, according to an ESPN report that was published Sunday afternoon, ahead of the Pats’ Sunday night game against Cincinnati.

The report says that “tension exists” between Brady and the Pats’ coaching staff and that Jimmy Garoppolo was, indeed, drafted as Brady’s successor at quarterback. Sources told ESPN that the transition from Brady to Garoppolo could happen “sooner than later” but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee a change this season.

With Brady wanting to play several more years, the report states that it’s no guarantee that No. 12 finishes his career in New England.

Brady was visibly distraught at a postgame press conference after a 30-7 blowout win over the Vikings in Week 2, and after the Pats were blown out themselves by Kansas City last Monday night, Brady chided his offense.

“This hasn’t been an isolated incident,” Brady told WEEI last week. “I don’t think, offensively, we’ve played well all year. I don’t think we’ve played well for a long time.”
