The Red Sox will be without their slugging DH for a while.
David Ortiz, who missed yesterday’s doubleheader with bursitis in his right foot, told reporters today that he’s likely to miss a week of action.
“I should just chill, you know, rest,” Ortiz said. “I
got this [walking] boot you guys saw me wearing. Just got to wear it for
a few days.”
The Sox, of course, could use Big Papi back ASAP. Their loss last night, combined with the Yankees’ win, dropped them out of first place in the AL East.
