They may have dated for four years, had two kids together and been engaged for almost a year, but that doesn’t mean that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s marriage over the weekend wasn’t earth-shattering news. Details of the nuptials were everywhere — because clearly no one more important had anything more interesting going on.
The ceremony, which was attended by 130 guests (including Samantha Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale) had what insiders described to People magazine as “an Old Hollywood glamorous feel” — because nothing says high-class glamour like the ex-reality star from “The Simple Life.” To add to the classy affair: an elephant, which was apparently led onto the property of Richie’s father, Lionel Richie, where the wedding was held.
And in other matrimonial news, Elizabeth Hurley acknowledged via Twitter this weekend that she has separated from her husband, Arun Nayar, after a three-year marriage. Sadface!
