Efforts to settle Robin Williams’ estate are getting messy, as his wife, Susan Schneider, is suing the late comedian’s three children from previous marriages for removing items from the home she and Williams shared without her permission. But Williams’ kids are counter-suing, claiming Schneider is “adding insult to a terrible injury,” according to the Associated Press. “The Williams children are heartbroken that [Schneider], Mr. Williams’ wife of less than three years, has acted against his wishes by challenging the plans so carefully made for his estate,” their attorney says in the filing.
The main bone of contention seems to be memorabilia and awards that Williams promised to his children. Schneider argues that the items contained in her Tiberon, California home should be off-limits and they should only be selecting items from another home he owned in Napa and storage. “Any other interpretation would lead to Mrs Williams’ home being stripped while Mrs Williams still lives there,” her attorneys argue.
