Rufus Wainwright has had “a bit of an addiction“toJudy Garland since he was running around in an apron pretending to be Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz.” He paid tribute to Garlandat a 2006 concert reprising her historicshow Judy at Carnegie Hall, and 10 years later he’ll do it again this summer, reports Entertainment Weekly.

“A lot has happened in 10 years on all fronts and musically this show will reflect that,” Wainwright tells the magazine. “This brilliant material was constructed to widen and deepen with age,and I’m looking forward to the experience of singing these songs again, myself being more experienced.”

Wainwright’s take, according to music critics after his 2006 show, embracesboth the hopeful spirit of Garland’s tour of the American songbook, and addshis own interpretation as a gay man revering one of the earliest and still best-loved gay icons.
