Russia’s mortality rate up 1.5-2% since start of 2020: Ifax cites health minister

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s mortality rate has risen by an estimated 1.5-2% since the beginning of 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency on Friday.

He did not specify a point of comparison for the data.

As of Thursday, Russia had reported 661,165 coronavirus cases and 9,683 deaths.
