Sacha Baron Cohen trolls O.J. Simpson in grand finale of Who is America?

Sacha Baron Cohen trolls O.J. Simpson in grand finale of Showtime's Who is America? comedy series.

Sacha Baron Cohen trolled O.J. Simpson during the grand finale of his Showtime comedy series, Who is America? and it was just as weird as you could imagine.

In Sunday’s grand finale, Cohen disguised himself as an Italian billionaire playboy, fashion photographer and TV host named Gio Monaldo to interview former football star, former actor and former murder suspect. O.J. Simpson for a show called The Diamond Life. Cohen traveled to Las Vegas to meet with him.

Before the interview, Monaldo described Simpson as “an American hero and women’s rights activist.” During the interview, a woman playing Cohen’s girlfriend Christina pretended to not recognize Simpson until Cohen made a stabbing motion to her neck.

“She knows that, oh Jesus!” Simpson said. “Help me!” Simpson said while laughing.

Simpson called Christina “gorgeous.” and Monaldo agreed and replied:  “You can enjoy her, just don’t…” while making a stabbing gesture again.

When Christina left the room Cohen’s character then said, “She’s gorgeous, but sometimes I want to kill her,” adding that he wanted to “send her on a private helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon.”

Monaldo high-fives Simpson, who was laughing and telling Monaldo to “stop.”

Cohen’s character goes a step further by saying he wants to meet Johnnie Cochran, the lawyer who represented Simpson during the 1995 Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman murder trial.  Simpson goes on to explain that Cochran is dead.

“What, you didn’t kill him too, did you?” Monaldo asked.

Simpson, still laughing, tells Monaldo to stop again.

“Me and you, we got something in common,” Baron Cohen said. “We’re both, how you say it — lady killers,” Cohen said in a thick Italian accent.

Simpson waved his hands and said “no” while still laughing. He added, “No, I didn’t kill nobody.”

Cohen has disguised himself as different characters during the season and has gone after big names including Ted Koppel, Bernie Sanders, Roy Moore and Georgia politician Jason Spencer who was forced to resign after Cohen, who was portraying an Israeli military officer convinced him to shout racial slurs during counterterrorism strategy training.
