TORONTO – Canadian lightweight Sam (Hands of Stone) Stout will meet Joe Lauzon at UFC 108 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.
Lauzon confirmed the fight Sunday via Twitter and Facebook.
Stout (15-5-1 including 3-4 in the UFC) was to meet Phillipe Nover at a card Sept. 16 in Oklahoma City but the fight was called off when Nover had a seizure in the locker-room immediately prior.
Lauzon (17-4 including 5-1 in the UFC) is coming off a win over Jeremy Stephens in February.
Stout, a native of London, Ont., who trains out of Las Vegas, won a unanimous decision over (Handsome) Matt Wiman in his last outing, at UFC 97 in Montreal in April.
While Stout and Nover didn’t get to fight, the UFC gave both their show and win bonuses for the Oklahoma City card.
