Scores of people who were gunned down, stabbed, strangled and otherwise taken away too early in their lives will be remembered in a ceremony in downtown Boston Thursday night where the names of victims will be placed at a memorial garden.
Sixty-six names will be added to the Garden of Peace, a memorial located on Beacon Hill not far from the State House.
The memorial includes the names of about 800 murder victims. Each year a ceremony is held in the fall when more names are added. Names of victims are carved into rocks that are then placed throughout the garden.
Thursday’s ceremony will include a candle light vigil and the reading of the names of the victims.
