It was a veritable CW Network convention at Vancouver’s newest restaurant, The Shore Club last week, as Tom Welling (Smallville), Jared Padelicki (Supernatural) and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) all dined together the same night. On yet another evening, actor Dule Hill, in town shooting his series Psych, was spotted at The Shore Club having a business dinner.
Meanwhile, last week at George Ultra Lounge, Burnaby-born crooner Michael Buble dropped by a couple of times for cocktails, as did several cast members of The L Word; while the beautiful Eva Mendes dined with a friend at Chambar.
Last, but certainly not least, Todd Bridges (Willis from Different Strokes) and musician Mad Child (Swollen Members) were both spotted enjoying a meal at Browns in North Vancouver.

More Alba sightings: The sight of Jessica Alba doesn’t come as a huge surprise to Vancouverites, given all the projects she’s shot here in town over the years. Nevertheless locals no doubt enjoyed catching a glimpse of her outside the Met in downtown Vancouver recently, walking the two males in her life, her pug, Sid, and albino pit bull, Bowie. Alba is in town filming re-shoots for her thriller The Eye, a remake of the Hong Kong film Jian Gui, about a woman who receives an eye transplant that enables her to see into the supernatural world.

Local talent on the rise: It’s fun to spot big Hollywood stars hanging out amongst us locals, but it’s also great to see indigenous Hollywood North talent getting noticed. Case in point: Vancouver actress Crystal Lowe, who has guested in numerous series from Stargate to Da Vinci’s Inquest, and had supporting roles in films like Final Destination 3 and Black Christmas. Lowe is now joining the cast of the new Vancouver-shot NBC series The Bionic Woman in the recurring role of Jessica, the best friend of bionic woman Jamie Sommers (Michelle Ryan).
The Lost Boys are back … sort of: Finally, Lost Boys 2: The Tribe — call it the answer to a question no one was asking — kicked off shooting here in town on Monday. A sequel to 1987’s cult favorite The Lost Boys, directed by Joel Schumacher and starring such luminaries as Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland, this direct-to-DVD project is being helmed by P.J. Pesce, a filmmaker perhaps best known for From Dusk Till Dawn 3. We’ll leave it at that, other than to say filming runs till Sept. 24.
