Spring has come to Ottawa early this year, giving home and cottage owners plenty of time to update their spaces.
The ninth annual Cottage Show and the fourth annual Big Backyard Show are being held concurrently at Lansdowne Park this weekend.
Held in three buildings, the shows feature specialty companies showcasing a wide variety of products and services tailored towards country and custom homeowners.
“This year’s program has some great green options,” said show director Ian Forsyth, “everything from energy solutions and alternative toilets to composite material decks.”
Globe and Mail gardening columnist Marjorie Harris, and CBC Radio’s plant expert Ed Lawrence will be on hand to offer their advice.
The shows begin Friday and run through Sunday.
