Adrenaline surges through my body as I fly along the tight single track trails on Blue Mountain with my dirt bike. The bright sun above shines through the lush green forest as I follow the steep rocky and rooty terrain. There is one thing missing as I navigate the trails: The sound!
It was a year ago when I first tested the Zero X electric dirt bike. I now own one and it definitely is the future of dirt biking.
The bike is powered by an incredible Lithium Ion battery that is biodegradable and fully recyclable. It creates 23 horse power that moves the bike along at a top speed of 95 km/h and does 0 to 50 in a mere two seconds!
The bike only weighs 140 pounds (63 kilograms) and rides more like a downhill mountain bike than a full-on motocross bike. It is easy on the trails due to the low-end torque of the electric motor, which makes it easy to ride as well.
However, the best part is the smile that comes across your face as you are flying through the beautiful forest trails with absolutely no sound. An on-road version will be available by the fall that will have side bags, lights and will be the ideal city commuter with zero emissions.
