Slain woman remembered

Hundreds of people gathered at the University of B.C. to remember Wendy Ladner-Beaudry, who was killed while jogging in Pacific Spirit Park.

Mourners at Saturday’s memorial service remembered the 53-year-old mother of two and sister of former city councillor Peter Ladner as caring, happy and athletic.

The previous day, hundreds of people took part in a Take Back the Park walk and run through Pacific Spirit Park to pay homage to Ladner-Beaudry.

Her body was discovered on April 3 on a trail near Southwest Marine Drive and 41st Avenue.

Police have not released a cause of death and no arrests have been made.
