If you were in the New Bedford area Thursday morning and felt a slight rumbling, then you did indeed feel an earthquake.
The Weston Observatory reported that a 1.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded at about 10:52 a.m. about 7 miles north/northwest of New Bedford, according to state officials.
“Affected people would have felt shaking and rumbling, possible a loud boom,” the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said in a statement.
The city of New Bedford said that no injuries or damage was reported.
