Yesterday’s Saturday Night Live took a jab at Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s handling of Occupy Wall Street.
Funnyman Fred Armisen took the stage during Saturday’s opening monologue, quick to defend the city’s right to power washing.
“As all New Yorkers know various parts of the city are routinely power washed,” he said. “Power washing is a New York institution and without it, the Big Apple would lose its reputation as the world’s cleanest and most thoroughly sanitized city.”
Knowing that protesters were also concerned with alleged police brutality, he addressed the numerous pepper-spraying incidents as well.
“All pepper spray was made from pure, 100 percent cayenne pepper without any added oil or trans fats and was completely salt free,” he assured the audience.
Finally, he touted New York City as a world class place to visit, dine and even protest.
“You will be treated with dignity and respect by the city and police with one caveat,” said Armisen. “The second, and I mean the second I see a demonstrator lighting up a cigarette we’re moving in.”
