Sorry about that

Either Braylon Edwards, who’s been in the court room almost as much as he’s been in the end zone in the past year, gets it — or Rex Ryan drilled it into his head during a team meeting yesterday.

The coach has had enough of the off-field embarrassments.

“I didn’t want to put our team in this situation,” said Edwards, who was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated. “I’m definitely most apologetic for the distraction.”

Edwards said the past 24 hours have been difficult and “there hasn’t been a lot of sleep.” He’ll get a little rest Sunday; Ryan announced the receiver won’t start, but will suit up for the AFC East showdown in Miami. Ryan will determine later in the week how much playing time to give him.

Edwards’ arrest came just one week after the organization had to apologize to a female reporter who was allegedly harassed in the locker room.

“I’m basically tired of dealing with these issues,”?Ryan said. “I said, ‘let’s just end it.’ We don’t need to be that team. This team works too hard in everything else to be looked at in this light.”
