One of the best strikers in MLS over the past three seasons is wanted in Europe but his current club isn’t budging.

Fanendo Adi, the Portland Timbers forward who has bagged 41 goals since joining the ‘Rose City’ club in 2014, has been closely monitored by several European sides over the past year. The latest suitor, a league source tells Metro New York, is Scottish Premier League outfit Glasgow Rangers. The club is in their return to the Scottish Premier League after several seasons of demotion following financial instability. Before their relegation from Scotland’s top tier they were a perennial presence in the Champions League.

But while Rangers enquired about a price for Adi, the league source said that Portland refused to talk money, telling the Scottish giants that “Adi is not for sale.” He is a Designated Player on their roster.

Once linked to the likes of Ajax in Holland, Adi played in Europe prior to joining MLS. The 26-year old is coming off a 16-goal season for Portland, a side that struggled to defend their MLS Cup win in 2015 and ended up having missed the playoffs altogether.
