JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday that his government would start talks on moving most of the country to “alert level 3” COVID-19 restrictions by the end of May, from the current “alert level 4”.

Ramaphosa added in an address to the nation that parts of the country with the highest rates of infection would remain at alert level 4 and that changes to that level of restrictions would be announced in the coming days.
