Spanx, the shapewear line that’s been smoothing women’s tummies and butts for the past ten years, has just debuted its first in-store shop at Bloomingdales 59th St. The brand-spanking-new 400-square-foot space is on the fourth floor, in the intimate apparel section, where you’ll find Spanx specialists on hand to help you get the right fit. We caught up with founder Sara Blakely who gave us some one-on-one consultations for looking hot no matter the event.
Here’s Blakely’s advice on how to wear your Spanx:
If you’re attending a fancy event: “If I’m in a long evening gown, I would probably have on my Bra-llelujah! — either strapless [the Bra-Cha-Cha] or one of the regular ones — and I would probably have on a high-waisted footless control pantyhose.”
If you have a lunch date: “If I [were] wearing a little summer dress or something to go meet somebody for lunch, I’d probably have on my Slim Cognito shaper shorts or Skinny Britches — they’re [really] lightweight — and the Bra-llelujah!”
If you’re running errands: “I would probably have on one of our new active pants and a T-shirt with a Bra-llelujah! on underneath it.”
