Red Sox have look of team ready to be swept against Astros

Red Sox, Astros

The Red Sox’ 2017 ALDS with the Astros feels a whole hell of a lot like their 2016 ALDS loss via sweep to the Cleveland Indians as Boston’s offense has been nonexistent and its starting pitching has failed miserably.

In Game 2 Friday afternoon in Houston, the Red Sox mustered just two runs in an 8-2 loss and Drew Pomeranz was bashed around, allowing four earned runs in just two innings of work. The Red Sox used seven pitchers in the loss, with Eduardo Rodriguez and Addison Reed both struggling as well.

Jackie Bradley Jr, hitting out of the nine hole, drove in the Red Sox’ only two runs in the game.

The Sox will look to avoid elimination Sunday at Fenway Park in Game 3 (2:30 p.m., FOX Sports 1).
