Stabbings send two to hospital

Two men are recovering in hospital and a 27-year-old man is being sought for attempted murder after two separate stabbings in Vancouver and Burnaby.

A warrant has been issued for Matthew Barber for attempted murder and uttering threats after a man was found with serious knife wounds early Saturday morning.

“(Police) feel that there is a real threat that the male may return and cause further harm to the victim and the victim’s family,” said RCMP Cpl. Alexandra Mulvihill.

The previous day, a 35-year-old man of no fixed address walked into hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in a fight near Howe Street.

“During the fight one of the men was stabbed,” Vancouver police Const. Jana McGuinness said. “When he realized he was wounded he walked himself to hospital.”

Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to call police.
