A Staten Island woman has been arrested on charges of murder and arson, according to the NYPD.
Her husband, Frank Baldassarre, was found in a bathtub in their Victory Boulevard home on Wednesday afternoon by firefighters, who were dispatched on calls of a garage fire.
Police said Frank Baldassarre, 80, was found unconscious and unresponsive with a head injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Antionetta Baldassarre, 67, was taken from the home and treated for smoke inhalation at Richmond University Medical Center. She was later arrested on charges of second degree murder, arson and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The medical examiner will determine Frank Baldassarre’s cause of death, and the investigation continues.
