Still chasing first win, Herd host Oceanic tonight

The Halifax Mooseheads will gun for their first victory when they host the Rimouski Oceanic tonight at 7 p.m.

The Mooseheads are off to a dismal 0-6 start, last in the QMJHL standings, and while they’re a far cry from the all-time record 0-14 start of the Shawinigan Cataractes of 1977-78, they are desperately hoping to break the goose-egg.

The Oceanic are second-last in the Q at 1-3-2.

“It’s the old saying, ‘You’re never as good as you think you are, you’re never as bad as you think you are,’” said Mooseheads head coach and general manager Cam Russell. “We know we have some young and inexperienced players, but I think overall we’ve had real good efforts and seen improvement.”
