Street Style: Brooklyn Vintage Crawl

Brooklyn’s hipster hub, (Williamsburg and Greenpoint) was the scene of the borough’s first Vintage Crawl this weekend, where a plethora of vintage shops and bars offered amazing discounts and deals.

Here’s a look at the stylish crowd members who caught Metro’s eye:

Name: Lexi Oliveri

Age: 35

Occupation: Vintage retailer and store owner

What she’s wearing: Dress: Mom’s crochet dress from the 60’s; Tights: Forever 21; Necklace: Mom’s cameo; Watch and Bracelet: Vintage.

Personal style: “So my inspiration really is my mom’s closet. She was in the fashion industry in the late 50’s and she worked for Lilly Dache during high school, the French milliner at the time and she left the industry a few years later to become a mother but she didn’t leave her closet behind, she kept everything, everything from the 50’s to the 90’s.”

Name: Monique Cole

Age: 25

Occupation: Contemporary dancer

What she’s wearing: Dress: American Apparel, Jacket: Vintage from Unique in the Fulton Mall; Shoes: from Urban Jungle; Ring: Top shop; Bag: Vintage Chanel; Necklace: Chinatown ($10).

Personal style: “90’s princesses, I love prints, solids, I love color blocking and putting things together.”

Occupation: Vintage clothing retailer

What she’s wearing: Suit: 70’s French Woolen mohair tailored suit; Shirt: 70’s Polly Landscape print.

Personal style: “Anything vintage really, ranging from the turn of the century to the mid eighties. I am pretty open-minded and I like mixing pieces. I don’t like getting stuck in any particular era, but I am very fond of vintage.”

Go-to item: “A little wool cropped 50’s jacket…when I bought it I didn’t realize that I would be wearing it very single year with pants, skirts and dresses everywhere.”
