Study: Bisexual men have confirmation that they do in fact exist

This one is too good to pass up. In a study that literally involved crotch sensors, researchers have now confirmed that bisexual men who claim they are bisexual are, in fact, bisexual.

The researchers were from Northwestern University — the same school that put out a study in 2005 claiming, “with respect to sexual arousal and attraction, it remains to be shown that male bisexuality exists.”

But apparently the tables have turned and we have technology to thank for the truth. A group of men who have had sexual experiences and romantic relationships with each gender were asked to watch videos of male and female same-sex encounters, according to the New York Times. Then “genital sensors” monitored their erectile responses. (Can you imagine having a researcher in a white lab coat coming at you to hook up a “genital sensor?” Awkward!)

Researchers found that men who said they were bisexual were stimulated by videos of both men and women (shocking), while men who said they were gay or straight did not.

“Someone who is bisexual might say, ‘Well, duh!’” Allen Rosenthal, the lead author of the new Northwestern study and a doctoral student in psychology at the university, told the New York Times. “But this will be validating to a lot of bisexual men who had heard about the earlier work and felt that scientists weren’t getting them.”

Bisexual men, rest easy. You now have “validation” from the scientific community. This is a historic day.
