A man suspected of slashing an Israeli tourist last week in a Manhattan subway station has been arrested, reports said.
Police arrested Marvin Taylor, 24, in Greenwich Village on Sundayin connection to a violent robbery that happened in the Bleeker Street subway station last week, ABC7reported. He was charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The incident happened on Friday around 3:30 a.m. when police say a man slashed and robbed a sleeping toutist who was wearing Hasidic clothing in the Bleeker Street subway station,CBS2 reported.
The victim was reportedly able to contact police after other tourists came to his aid. Police needed an interpreter to translate for the victim who spoke only Yiddish, according to ABC7.
Police say the motive for the attack was robbery and that the incident was not a hate crime, CBS2 reported.
