Cruz: No complaining
Penelope Cruz doesn’t want to hear you complain about getting older. “When I hear a woman who is in her early 30s is worrying about growing old, I just want to slap her,” she tells Metro. “When I’m 80, I want to look in the mirror and see an 80-year-old woman. My grandmother had so many wrinkles and every wrinkle told a story.” But that doesn’t mean the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star is against others getting a little nip and tuck: “I want to experience every year of my life for what it is. It doesn’t mean I am against somebody who does a little retouch or plastic surgery,” she says. “I don’t judge people who do it. I just don’t like how women complain about growing old.”
Pettyfer is so misunderstood
Alex Pettyfer is looking to do damage control after a pair of box-office flops and an eyebrow-raising interview in which he reportedly called Los Angeles “socially disgusting.” “I don’t think I was so much misquoted but misunderstood,” Pettyfer tells E! Online about the rant, with the young actor’s publicist adding that Pettyfer is “the most misunderstood boy in America.” Pettyfer also claims the report about him having the words “Thank you” above his crotch is false. “You know, everyone thinks it says ‘Thank you.’ It says my name, ‘Alex.’ It’s boring.”
Loving his leading ladies
Woody Allen admits his basis for casting leading ladies is simple: “I have great adoration and lust and interest in all of the women in my films. It would thrill me to go out with all of them,” he tells W magazine. But that doesn’t make the audition process any less uncomfortable, he admits. “Casting is so awkward. I only see them to make sure that they haven’t gained 200 pounds or had five face jobs.”
