Quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow weren’t made available to the media yesterday, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t dominate the topic of discussion.
The topic du jour for Darrelle Revis was Tebow’s leadership both on and off the field.
“He’s a born leader,” Revis said. “Very few athletes have the gift he has. He tries to lead by example all the time.”
“He’s a playmaker,” Revis said. “He makes plays; he wins games. That’s it.”
Revis had been critical of Tebow last year as a Bronco.
“When you get to know him as a person, you have way more respect for him as a person. You appreciate him.”
While he didn’t talk to the media, Tebow did trade quips with teammate Bart Scott — who also declined to talk to the media.
“This is voluntary. I don’t talk voluntary,” Scott joked. “Yes, I love Tebow.”
Tebow later took a playful shot at the 31-year-old linebacker’s age as he recovered — slowly — from the day’s practice.
