Tech, health care workers in demand

A new feature on CareerBuilder.com evaluates which industries are in demand by compiling data from 45 million jobs, 40 million résumés and 140 million worker profiles. Originally designed for employers in industries with worker shortages, the “Supply & Demand Portal” can also be used by job-seekers thinking about their next moves.

According to data from the last six months, the portal identified cloud computer developers as the most in-demand, with .32 job-hunters for every open position and an average salary of $100,000.

Coming in at No. 2 were registered nurses ($65,000 per year), who also benefit from more available jobs than applicants (.38 for every opening). Increased demand for health care services also contributed to health care administrators ranking seventh. With an average salary of $88,000, there are 2.25 seekers for each position.
