A 19-year-old male was killed after his vehicle struck a tree Wednesday morning.
Paramedics said just before 7:45 a.m., a driver lost control of his vehicle on the 700 block of Kerwin Road. Paramedics said the man was trapped inside his heavily damaged car and had to be treated for life-threatening head injuries while firefighters worked to extricate him. He was alone in the vehicle.
Shortly after being extricated, the driver lost all vital signs. Paramedics attempted resuscitation but pronounced him dead at the scene.
Ottawa police collision investigators closed a section of the road for the investigation.
