The Post reported that at the stabbing scenean orange box cutter was left behind. Police are reportedly seeking another teen who was wearing a smiley face hoodie and may have stabbed his rival during an after-school fight.

“I came outside and there was a group of kids inside the park, and the melee started and spilled outside” the park, Freddy Garcia, who works at the nearby Lindsay Deli told the Post.

He added that the incident of violence, especially among such young kids, was unusual for the area.

“It was boys and girls in the park,” he said. “He was stabbed around the chest. It’s unusual; not many things happen in this area here. Everyone gets along. I always see the kids playing after school, baseball, soccer, basketball whatever they can play.”
