Ten years later, Siren’s still calling

Not only is the Village Voice celebrating 10 years of its Siren Music Festival this year, the anniversary of the free summer music event also coincides with the opening of Coney Island’s re-vamped Luna Park. One of the founders of Siren, Neil Pineschi, is pleased with the festival’s new backdrop.

“The new rides and [the park’s] look are visually stunning and positive ideologically to our fans and fans of Coney,”?he says. “[It] makes me feel like the old Astroland is back in action.”

This year’s hipster-rific lineup includes Matt and Kim, Harlem, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Holy F—, Harlem and many more.
